Meaningful moments in a glorious summer

Summer 2025 brought sunshine, stories, and unforgettable connections to Casita Comares. Guests from all over the world made their way to our beautiful mountain hideaway. In this blog, we’d love to share some of the most heartwarming moments we experienced together.

Summer kicked off early in Comares - and so did the bookings. Many guests, tired of gloomy weather or simply craving a break from the daily grind, found their way to Casita Comares. One of our first bookings was a mother and daughter who stayed for an impressive 16 days. A good vibe is essential - and we had it from the start. By day two, we were already enjoying drinks together (not for too long though, they had a packed schedule). A new beach club every day, because yes, the daughter needed fresh content for her Instagram feed.

The outdoor kitchen we built this spring turned out to be a hit. It was used constantly. There’s something magical about cooking barefoot with a glass of wine, gazing out over the sea. Since the kitchen is shared with us, it sparked some spontaneous cooking battles - together with our guests, we whipped up some truly delicious dishes.

Of course, after all that fun, it’s good to get moving. Many guests joined us for our morning hike to the village, which sits 200 meters higher and takes about 35 minutes. A perfect way to sweat out the wine from the night before. The reward? A tasty breakfast in the village square - and the company of Lola, our little dog and loyal hiking buddy.

Peace is a luxury, not a given

“A place where you truly unwind,” wrote a guest from Utrecht. We heard it often: guests arrived drained and left recharged, with a finished book and a newfound love for siestas. It reminds us how precious silence and space can be - and how Casita Comares offers both, effortlessly.

A good bed is worth its weight in gold

We thought the sunsets would steal the show, but no: “The bed sleeps better than at home!” appeared in at least three reviews. Comfort is in the details, and we’re quietly proud that our mattresses, pillows, and linens helped guests dream deeply.

Lola is a star

Our Instagram followers already know: Lola has her own fan club. From morning greetings on the terrace to her dramatic look when denied a second cookie - she stole hearts. One guest from Canada called her “the best hostess in Comares.” We won’t argue - she’s got charm.

Small gestures, big impact

A bottle of wine on arrival, a handwritten card, a tip for a secret hiking trail - these little touches came up often in reviews. “We felt seen,” wrote a couple from Berlin. That means the world to us. Because true hospitality isn’t a service - it’s a feeling.
