Comares, our beautiful mountain village, offers not only breathtaking views and historical charm but also a surprising number of opportunities for outdoor sports. For those who love being active in nature, Comares is the perfect place - even in the height of summer!
One of our favorite morning rituals is the hike from Casita Comares to the village. The trail winds through olive groves and almond trees, constantly revealing views of the surrounding hills and the Mediterranean Sea in the distance. On a clear day, you might even catch a glimpse of the mountains in Morocco. The hike takes about half an hour and is quite manageable with a bit of fitness. When we bring guests who find it too strenuous to walk in one go, resting in the shade of an olive tree is a great option before continuing at a relaxed pace. For most of our guests, it’s a perfect way to start the day.
But Comares offers more than just hiking. Lately, we’ve become completely hooked on padel - the trendy racket sport that’s taken the world by storm has now reached our village. Our court is FREE to book and comes with a sea view. It’s a unique experience: staying active while gazing out over the shimmering coastline of the Costa del Sol. With a view like that, missing a ball now and then is inevitable…
And for those seeking an adrenaline rush, there’s the Comares zipline - one of the longest in Spain! Gliding above the valley, with the village behind you and the sea in the distance, you feel completely free for a moment. It’s a spectacular way to experience the surroundings from a different perspective. We personally don’t dare to try it, but hey - something for everyone!
Our little pool is wonderfully refreshing, though not suitable for swimming laps. Luckily, our village has a proper competition pool (piscina municipal) where you can swim laps. Of course, the Mediterranean Sea is the ultimate place to swim. We often combine it with a run: a 5 km loop along the boulevard followed by a cooling dip in the sea.
Besides hiking, padel, and the zipline, there are also opportunities for cycling, horseback riding, climbing, and even yoga (our neighbor teaches it) with a sea view. Plenty of ways to burn off the wine from the night before! And for those seeking relaxation after all that activity, our neighbors Inma and Reinier offer wonderful massages right here on site.
